This event was attended by more than 130,000 trade visitors from all parts of the world. At the eleventh InnoTrans the main emphasis was on Railway Technology, Infrastructure, Tunnel Construction, Interiors and Public Transport. Under the heading of ’Mobility 4.0’ this year’s InnoTrans addressed an up-to-the-minute industry topic. In the Public Transport section the world’s rail industry exhibited innovative and eco-friendly transport solutions for a modern society. During the event, GMV presented its whole array of solutions for the transport market, such as its railway fleet management system SAE-R (the onboard platform developed for the projects of the Spanish railway operator Renfe), Railway Video Surveillance Solutions, different information systems and electronic ticketing system solutions. GMV’s stand also displayed some of the equipment making up its new family of Ticket Vending Machines (TVM). These have been designed to allow transport users themselves to buy their own single-journey tickets and buy or recharge farecards at stations, bus-stops or on the vehicles themselves, taking in any means of transport. GMV’s stand gave personalized demos of its fleet management systems and its electronic fare collection systems and also answered the questions of everyone who asked for more detailed information on our applications. EU Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc, and the German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Alexander Dobrindt, attended the InnoTrans opening ceremony. According to Transport Minister Dobrindt: “The overall climate is better than it has ever been and politically the path ahead has been set out: we are investing, modernizing, and the digital transition is underway. We are laying the foundations to ensure that rail transport maintains its role as a leading innovative force and successfully enters the next phase, ’Mobility 4.0’ and the ’digital age of rail transport’.”, he stated.
