At the same ceremony further prizes were also awarded for Best Performance by a Family Firm, Emerging Entrepreneur, Internationalization and Social Entrepreneur. The event was attended by the finalist entrepreneurs, members of the prestigious award-scheme jury and winners and finalists from previous years plus a good number of executives from national companies and representatives of the organization.

Ernst & Young started its Entrepreneur of the Year initiative in 1986 in the United States. It is now held annually in 60 countries, including Spain. It aims to acknowledge the best entrepreneurial feats and the most successful business practices. Any entrepreneur, shareholder or main driving force of any company’s success is eligible for the annual awards. The winners of the national awards then qualify for the worldwide Entrepreneur of the Year Award held by Ernst & Young each year.
