GMV develops Lisbon City Hall’s Public Works Planning System

In mid 2010 Lisbon City Hall (Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, the executive body of local government) turned to GMV for developing a complete public works planning and management system (Sistema de Gestão e Planeamento de Intervenções –SGPI) for the Portuguese capital.

This system centralizes all public works planning data, both in the pipeline and underway, within the municipal territory. This will expedite the work of the various local services involved and also favor monitoring of progress.

The system also monitors implementation of the land management instruments (Instrumentos de Gestão Territorial - IGTs) as well as management of the associated human and financial resources, such as the drawing up of the local budget.

The Câmara Municipal de Lisboa was recently a prizewinner in this year’s second IDC CIO awards (“IDC CIO Award 2012”) for setting up this GMV-developed system.

Every year this award scheme rewards the best national technological projects within the ICT field and highlights the commitment of government organizations and firms to innovation based on information technologies.

This award therefore acknowledges the capacities and experience built up by GMV in developing production-streamlining solutions and services on the strength of its ongoing commitment to research and its mastery of the new technologies.
