The New Ambassador of Germany in Spain, Peter Tempel, visited GMV’s Tres Cantos head office on 13 January last.

After an official welcome from GMV’s President, Martínez Walter, the visit was then structured as follows. First of all GMV showcased some of its space activities such as the development of ground control systems for commercial telecommunication satellite operators, where the company is world leader.

A presentation was then made of the latest breakthroughs for future space exploration missions, including a visit to GMV’s mock-up Martian terrain where GNC systems, autonomous navigation systems and rover systems in general are all put through their paces and also the robotics laboratory. Next came a presentation of the advanced robotic testbed for space operations and systems, specially designed for ground testing of missions related to space-debris capture, exploring the surface of other planets, moon landings and formation flying, among others.

In the second part of the visit GMV personnel showed the German Ambassador several of the sites where they carry out their work, such as Security Operations Center (SOC) of GMV Secure eSolutions, qualified for managing the security of banking information systems; or the telemedicine surgery set up in the interior zone of the firm’s demonstration room. Here a presentation was given of its antari e-Health software solution, which seamlessly blends conventional and remote medical practice.

Ambassador Peter Tempel showed a keen interest throughout, not only in the growth of GMV’s business but also the company’s proven technological capacity in the various markets it trades in, as well as its worldwide expansion and unstinting commitment to quality and competitiveness.
