GMV meets with UN agencies in Quart de Poblet, Valencia
Spain’s public exporting and foreign investment company, known as ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, in collaboration with the country’s Economic and Trade Office in New York, the Valencia Regional Trade Office, the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, and the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), are hosting a workshop on UNGSC procurement in the UN offices in Quart de Poblet, Valencia.
This is a multilateral workshop presented for Spanish companies to bring visibility to the activities of the various United Nations agencies that will be represented at the event, including their needs for purchasing goods and services, the procedures they follow, and the opportunities that their activities can present.
Jonás Porcar, GMV’s Multilateral Organizations Account Manager, attended this meeting and took the opportunity at the bilateral meetings with the agencies to demonstrate GMV’s capabilities and the possibilities of joint collaboration. GMV is currently a provider of specialized cybersecurity and software development consulting services for several UN agencies, such as WIPO, UNICEF, and UNHCR.
The UNGSC, based in Brindisi, Italy, and in Valencia through the UNICTF support base, provides logistics, geospatial intelligence and information technology to the Secretariat and the various UN agencies, funds and programs, and also provides training and education for UN peacekeeping missions around the world. To carry out their activities, both UNGSC and UNICTF issue calls for tenders.
All UN agencies and bodies together represent a global procurement market for products and services of nearly $30 billion (2021 data). With a sales volume of $130 million USD, Spain ranks 47th in the ranking with a 0.44% market share, with an upward trend.
