Attracting and nurturing talent, the keystone of GMV’s relations with the university world
GMV is always keen and willing to encourage the takeup of scientific and technological careers, firmly believing this to be an essential driving force behind society's ongoing development. Right from the start the company has made a point of liaising closely with universities all around the world. Pride of place here goes to the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) as the cradle of GMV's birth.
Throughout any year it takes part in several UPM-brokered actions and events such as the 6th graduation ceremony of telecommunication-services and technology engineering graduates and the 5th biomedical engineering graduation ceremony, held on 25 October in the Higher Telecommunications Engineering School (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Telecomunicaciones: ETSIT).
Guillermo Cisneros Pérez, UPM's Dean, chaired the ceremony, where the degree certificates were handed out to the new graduates as well as the ETSIT-EMPRESA prizes to the best degrees in both subjects. GMV, represented by Manuel Pérez Cortés, General Manager of Defense and Security, sponsored this award scheme together with other standout sector companies.
Furthermore, on 31 October, under the presidency of Guillermo Cisneros Pérez, the Madrid ceremony venue called Mirador de Cuatrovientos hosted the 6th graduation ceremony of aerospace engineering, the 1st management graduation ceremony and the 1st graduation ceremony of air-transport operations and management (Gestión y Operaciones del Transporte Aéreo: GyOTA) where a total of 479 graduates from the Higher Space and Aeronautics Engineering School (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Aeronáutica y del Espacio: ETSIAE) were awarded their certificates.
GMV, represented by Ignacio Ramos Gorostiola, GMV´s Chief People Strategy & Infrastructure Officer together with other leading space companies, handed out the prizes to the best degrees in each subject as well as a cash prize, equal to the enrolment cost of a Master's degree, to the best degrees by students then going on to take the Master's degree.
Participation in initiatives such as this underline GMV's commitment to excellence within the science and technology sector.
