GMV accompanies TEDAE in its 1st Cybersecurity Conference
On February 6 last, Madrid hosted the 1st Cybersecurity Conference organized by the Security Committee of the Spanish Association of Defense, Aeronautics and Space Technologies (Asociación Española de Tecnologías de Defensa, Aeronáutica y Espacio: TEDAE ) to address various cybersecurity aspects in our industrial environments.
TEDAE brought together over seventy participants from a variety of companies and government authorities. GMV was invited to share its point of view on cybersecurity technology and solutions in the industrial field, courtesy of Javier Zubieta, GMV’s Cybersecurity Business Development Manager.
The opening speech given by Jaime de Rábago, President of TEDAE, stressed that “Digitization affects every element of the company. The security of these systems, the assurance of the information they process has to imbue the whole organization. We can safely claim that cybersecurity in our industries is not just a question of competitiveness but also supporting the other levers that are introducing industry 4.0 technology”.
Next up was Javier Candau, Head of the Cybersecurity Department of Spain’s National Cryptology Center (Ciberseguridad del Centro Criptológico Nacional: CCN), who tackled the issue of cybersecurity in national strategic industrial sectors. After setting out the dimensions of our security system and highlighting the importance of concepts like cyber-resilience, cyber-intelligence, hybrid warfare or cyber-sabotage, he explained the role being played by CCN and the National Intelligence Center (Centro Nacional de Inteligencia; CNI) in ensuring cybersecurity in Spain.
Javier Zubieta gave his inside view of the daily activity of cybersecurity departments, stressing the different ways of reacting to a known and unknown attack. Javier enumerated a series of false beliefs about the intentionality of attacks in industrial environments, betraying a lack of awareness about the matter. Lastly, he described specialized services and cybersecurity solutions that are proving their efficiency in such specific environments.
